From our meeting point, we will be transferred to Express bus station for our trip to Trapaeng Kriel/Dongkalor border point (will take about 10 hours to get the check points). On arrival at the border point, we will get our Laos visa-on-arrival and it will take about half an hour. After crossing the border, we will meet our guide here and transfer to Pakse. On the way, we will visit Phanpheng waterfall located south of Don Khong the Mekong River, a 13km stretch of powerful rapids with several sets of cascades and the largest and the most awesome waterfall. We will have a great view of the falls from a wooden pavilion on the Mekong shore. After enjoyment here, we will continue our destination to Pakse. On arrival in Pakse, we will check in and enjoy our stay in Pakse. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Pakse. (D)

After breakfast, we will make a visit to a local market and then have a scenic drive to Bolaven Plateau spreading across the northeast of Champassak province into Salavan and Sekong. Bolaven Plateau is famous for its cool climate, dramatic waterfalls, fertile soil and high-grade coffee plantations. On the way, we will visti Tad Phasuam, the local village of Laos ethnic minority over here. On arrival at Bolaven Plateau, we will check in at our eco-resort overlooking the Tad Fane Waterfalls thundering down in a 200m deep gorge. Then, we will explore the diverse nature trails and hike up to the Dan Sin Say Plateau. Passing a hanging bridge, our stroll will go through coffee plantations and local villages where we will meet the ethnic tribes such as the Laven, the Alak, the Katu and Suay people. Lunch will be served.

In the late afternoon, we will return to our hotel and enjoy the nature of Bolaven Plateau. Dinner at a local restaurant or resort. Overnight at Bolaven Plateau. (B, L, D)


After breakfast, today we will explore Khong Island measures 18km long by 8km at its widest point. We will drive to the local boat pier to take a local ferry cruising along the Mekong River to Champassak. On the way we will visit the ancient Khmer religious complex of Wat Phu stretching 1400m up to the lower slopes of the Phu Pasak range. Sanskrit inscriptions and Chinese sources confirm the site has been worshipped since the mid 5th century. Lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will take a scenic drive and then continue our ferry boat voyage to Don Khong, one of the larger permanently inhabited islands in the Si Phan Don-Four Thousand Islands. Option: it is the best exploration with pedal around Don Khong area with a reasonable dirt road circumvents the island. Enjoy our stay at Khong Island. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at Khong Island. (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we will depart Laos and on arrival at check point at Dong Kalor border, we will have our immigration processes and then get on our bus to Phnom Penh. (B)
