Day 01 Depart Phnom Penh in the morning, visit in Kratie and overnight in Stung Treng
Day 02 Half-day visit in Stung Treng and head to Rattanakiri
Day 03 Half-day trekking and enjoy Lake Yeak Laom
Day 04 Return to Phnom Penh

From our meeting point, we will depart at 0700 am for Stung Treng, a key link town between Kratie and Lao border and on the way, we will make a visit in Kratie, a town of a little charmer with a popular for its rare freshwater Irrawaddy dolphins in Kampi Pools. It will have about 03 and half hour drive to get Kratie and on arrival in Kratie, our orientation drive will begin and we will find that the town is rich in legacy of French-era architecture. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we will visit Phnom Sombok, a natural and historical site and through a concrete staircase, we will climb up to the mountain to have a magnificent view of the countryside with Mekong River. Continue our visit to 100 pillar Wat (Wat Sarsar Muoy Roy) features four Buddhist temples, each facing the different direction. That Wat was built in 1806 and local people hold nine-day Khmer New Year ceremony there. Return to the town of Kratie and make a stop at Kampi Pools for Dolphin watch on a local boat. Continue our trip to Stung Treng and before our arrival in Stung Treng, we will head to O’Pong Moan, a natural canal which is popular for fishing and swimming. After a few minute to see the nature of surroundings and will go on our destination to Stung Treng. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Stung Treng.(L, D)

After breakfast, our visit will begin with Wat Hang Kho Ba located about 06 km northeast of the town and we will pay a visit to its 300-year old pagoda. Then we will try sweet tamarind, a popular fruit in this site and continue to Mekong Blue, a silk-weaving center, part of the Stung Treng Women’s Development Center where we will see the dyers and weavers in action. Return to the town and have a stroll around the bustling river town where we will have a chance to see the mixed culture, language and food of Khmer and Laotians. Stung Treng is famous for Nhem, parcels of raw, spiced fish wrapped in banana leaves. Buying local products help alleviate local poverty. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will continue our trip to Rattanakiri, a remote home for a mosaic of minority peoples like Jarai, Tompuon, Brau and Kreung with their own languages, traditions and customs. It will take about 04-hour drive to get Banlung, a capital of Rattanakiri province. On arrival in Banlung, we will continue to our lodge and enjoy your stay in jungle. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Rattanakiri. (Note: Yaklom rustic lodge will only be able to provide very basic amenities and limited electricity.)(B, L, D)

We will have our breakfast at our lodge. Program I for Half-day Rattanakiri trekking: our half-day trekking will begin from the western rim offering the panoramic view of the valley to the west. En route, we will have an opportunity to see farming practice of Tampuan people, their animal trapping devices, field hut and their way of life in the field. Crossing two streams and going up the hill through more forestry areas, you will reach Phume Laen Kraen (hill tribe) and enjoy the surroundings around the village: the bamboo water spring, the community hall, the rectangular shape of the village layout, women weaving traditional clothes, old coffee trees and so forth. Then our car will pick up to return to the lodge. Program II for Waterfall Exploration with elephant ride: Today, we will explore Cha Ung waterfall, Kachanh waterfall and Katieng waterfall. Firstly, we will walk to Cha Ung waterfall located 8km west from the center of the town and will enjoy the cool mist sprayed from the cave below the waterfall. Continue to next waterfall, Kachanh Waterfall which is 12m in length and flows endlessly along the Kantoeung stream to the Sre Pork River. Among the stream and rubber plantation, it offers wonderful scenery. Then, we will have a 3km walk to the cascading Kachanh waterfall and enjoy an elephant ride in the jungle. After that, return to the lodge. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, head to Yeak Loam Lake, a crater formed after a volcanic eruption over 4000 years ago and enjoy the lake. Tonight Farewell Dinner will be held at our lodge with bonfire and toast to your hidden exploration (two cans of soft drink or local beers/person).

After breakfast, we will depart Rattanakiri for our home in Phnom Penh. On the way, we will make a few stops for rest and lunch. After 11-12 hour drive, we will get in Phnom Penh.(B, L)
